Remixing a track that is as closely associated with a scene as ‘Finally’ is to house music is always going to a tricky business, but all involved have done a sterling job on treating this with respect it deserves. East & Young’s version retains the deeply emotional qualities of the original while reworking Julie McKnight’s seminal vocal around huge synths and a massive, peak-time breakdown that breathes new life into an unforgettable club anthem. Sandy Rivera himself then co-produces two remixes; the first, alongside Simon Mattson, teasing a barely recognizable cut of the vocal from the outset before dropping the full affair over a deep, throbbing beat, and the second with C. Castel, which builds around luscious chords and a hip-shaking groove
